    Default Friday afternoon delight was

a bit out of sorts for me, after making my first cast in my saltwater playground, I caught a keeper spotted trout. It then dried up for me, but not for others awaiting my visual as I was scooting towards another point of rendezvous. Now about three miles from my put in spot, I notice a 14' aluminum runabout being rowed by one of its occupants towards me. As you could guess, I was now hooked up in escort mode headed back to the ramp with two fellas from Wisconsin with an additional 5 hp kicker motor that also had its shortcomings. Well back at the ramp we had the typical fellow boater conflict of financial offer but I said that our love of sport also includes the love of support to others in need. Been there done that on both sides of the tow rope, right Howard? Well, I guess I had an extra couple tickets in the Karma jar because I was about to experience one of my memorable trips. Even decided to deviate at one point to chuck hard plastics instead of my soft arsenal = Mirrodine minis! Had a bunch of upper slot trout that were returned because I had the trophy(over 20") quota remaining to accomplish. All trout today, enjoy the sunset!

Wow that's a nice fish. Good job Doug. Thanks for sharing. Wish I could take the gewber out that way but got too many sickos here, namely the gewber, and abbey too! Can't go out for that long.

Good trip Doug, you’re a good man for doing the tow thing. I wanted to go sooooo bad today but I’m butt deep in a shower replacement. No other woman fix this week and grim for next. That big trout was nice. Always makes a good day better with one of those in the box.

Are you fishing the grassy areas and casting at the open spots?
Do you ever just drift over the grass with a rattle type float like a Cajun Thunder and a live shrimp?
You seem to do well on them and im curious as to your system there.

Yb- Fishing all artificial over kelp/rock/shell bottom. No need for live bait.

I always loved throwing a Pop-R for them. Nothing beats top water.

Unfortunately, t/w is nixed by floating grass influx that's governed via tide flow.

I can vouch for that. I too love t/w but it’s frustrating with all the veggies.
