Default NEW CONVERT - From bass to crappie - NEED YOUR HELP MEN!!!!!

I live in Sebring and fish with a friend who loves crappie fishing. He has shown me the spider rigging and straight line techniques but we need to find the crappie!! Also, I came down 2 years ago from Michigan/Indiana and he just moved here from Mississippi, so neither one of us know what lake to fish or what jigs, size, color, etc., are most dependable.
Needless to say, we can’t wait to hit our limit. Please help fellas!! Appreciate it!!

We’ve fished Istopoga, Red Beach, and Lake Sebring.

I have fish Istapoga with ok success so I wouldn’t be best to give advice there. There was always so hydrilla when I was there made it tough. I’d be better offering very solid advice on the Kissimmee Chain, Toho etc. That or offshore fishing!

Welcome to you both from Debary. Never fished down that way but there are others that know the area that will chime in soon. What I can offer is to longline troll to cover water and find fish, then slow down and focus on putting em in the box. Good luck fellas, look forward to your pics soon.

I don't spider rig or troll, just jig. I always jig them in the pads there. I'm a big fan of yellow hand tied jigs, but many colors work on any given day. Where in Indiana? I'm at my place in Okeechobee, but have to be back to work in Indiana Tuesday. Was planning on leaving Sunday, but the blizzard has me recalculating.

Right on the Indiana/Michigan state line is where I’m from. Worked in Elkhart County most of my life. Thank you for the advice brother. Have never fished Okeechobee but it’s on the list!!

Pinks and chartreuse with others are used a lot. Shine-hienee in Wally World in green is used. Minnow tipped or not. Istopoka is shallow I think and fish are already being caught shallow. In the s mall holes in the pads cover lots of water till you find them. Of course easier said than done. Enjoy the scene and life.
