Default St. John's River/ Deep Creek in st.johns county

Has anyone ever fished this area? It's close to home but I've never heard of anyone fishing for specks here

Where are you going to be launching? We caught fish in the river a couple of weeks ago north of the Dunn's Creek mouth. Nice ones too. We haven't fished the river closer to Palatka though.

Dirt ramp on McCullough Creek is the closest, I fish copperheads there in the spring and the creek is 30' in some spots with the power lines and downed trees providing a lot of structure.

You are several miles north of where we fish the river. We found them along the 16 foot contour line on both side of the river.

You may want to PM 6mm about Deep Creek, I remember him posting success on that body of water.

I gotcha, I'm still getting the basics down but I want to try it. I wonder if salinity affects them there because there is about a 1-2 tide swing normally and I know the salt water is on the bottom. Mabey I will try the shallow stuff
