Nice work brother. I'm sure they were a blast to catch. Thanks for sharing.

That snake is a copper headed water rattler.

rnes- Can you explain why, when I shook his tail, just before he bit me, I heard no rattle? Maybe froze up is all I could figure. Although the swelling has been significantly reduced(iced), I'm a little concerned that the discoloration surrounding the 2 holes has developed into a sunset crimson or maybe a sunrise raw umber tone. I know as a herpetologist, you may not know this but I'll ask anyway "Would you know the cost of an anti-venom treatment or if perhaps Medicare would cover it? I usually try to avoid snakes but I thought I'd try to answer your post anyway, thanks again.

I think the garlic slab sauce works as anti venom.

Great pics Doug, always enjoy your adventures !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Redge, they are very close to my favorite salt water fish. Also have to admit I’m a sucker for a good stuffed flounder. Cut em bite sized or maybe finger sized, dipped in a beer batter with cayenne and garlic, a beer so cold it hurts the back of your throat, and you’ll fully understand why I enjoy them so. Hope you get to try some one day soon.

Sounds excellent Skeet, especially the beer!
