    Default Hello old Friend

Got the opportunity to fish with Doug aka: Spiderman yesterday on lake Crescent. The morning started out quite brisk at 39 degrees & had the fish in a likewise "chill" w/lock-jaw, but presented some tme to catch up on small talk of family, fishing, ect...however, the cold started to give way by late morning as well as the layers of jackets & we began to pick up a fish here & there. The water was like a mirror & only had the occasional ripple w/bluebird skies, couldn't have turned out better weather wise. Crescent did tease us with a few good fish the lake is known for including the 2# 4oz one Doug caught in the pic. below & we probably had a total of 15 or so w/throwbacks, not setting the world on 🔥, but enough to wet the appitete for the next trip. Sure enjoyed fishing out of his sweet boat & the trial run in those millennium seats have my back convinced it's every bit a investment needed next for my boat. Thanks again Doug, we can't go so long before the next trip, & load be the boat the rest of your stay....

Great morning, is he using those floats as a rattle bite indicator between the first 2 guides? I have seen glass beads used for that but the floats might be just a tad louder.

You would be right Mike, he uses them as bite indicators, guess he had to hollow them out a bit with drill to fit, they don't make sound & a couple hung up the line, but just had to pull back from reel side to release, was thinking maybe he could insert a 3/8" red plastic wire protector used in alum, flex conduit...good idea Doug had for them long poles....

Good trip guys. Make me jealous. I go by Monroe a few times a day and some days I just know it’s goin on, and yesterday was one of those days. It played out well for you. Very nice fish also, ya another reason to venture north. Thanks for the post and the pics.

Great post Jeff, sorry I missed ya but I fished the North end and left early to go fish the river where I did real well. Yes that boat and set up is a great one. I fished with Doug 3 times in that boat and really enjoyed it. Also the millennium seats are really comfy. I bought a set last summer and we are enjoying them. See you soon.

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Yes Jeff I had a great time also. Wished it could have lasted longer but you do what you have to do. Ended the day with 15. Fished the river the past couple of days and have done better. As far as the bobbers on the tips, they do rattle if I would have drilled them out with a smaller hole like I did last year. But the real reason I have them is to see the tips better. I push with the Vexan 16 footers. I challenge people to do it on one tip and see for yourself. Until next time Jeff be careful on the water and looking forward to next time.
