I talked to my friend today, that is spending the month of January at Okeechobee, with his son who lives there, he said the crappie bite on Okeechobee was very slow, he fished there today, marked lots of fish with his electronics, but couldn’t get them to bite, only caught 3 crappie. I have been planning a trip there but he told me to push my trip back a couple weeks, anyone else that fish there regularly, if you would please post, your fishing reports, so as to help your brothers from the north, to make their long fishing trip, be a fun one. Thanks in advance..

I've been here since Dec 20. Leaving in a week. 8 is the most I've caught on the lake. I've been catching some at Kissimmee. Water temps are finally falling, but so is the water level. Wish I had some advise for you.
Thanks Child of God thanked you for this post

Decided today that we're just gonna postpone our trip for the end of the month. Not much seems to be changing down there right now, but hopefully February turns on. Damn shame, I tell ya.

I can't get anything going on the lake. I know of a guy catching some in the river. I'm going to give it a try before I leave this weekend. For now going back to Lake Kiss.

Glad to hear you're pulling some in on Kissimmee, at least. Good luck out there!

My friend and I have hit Istopoga and the crappie are there, just have to find em’. After 3 different trips to Istopoga, 1st trip was so windy couldn’t fish, second trip my friend was by himself and caught 7 from 10am to 1pm, and the 3rd trip we only caught 3, BUT when we loaded the boat my friend spoke with a guy who said another guy had got his limit in the HOLES in the CAT TAILS.
Now we know where to look. Good luck bro!!

Yea, I believe it. I caught fish the two times I went, but the wind was bad both times. I caught fish under mats of dead cat tails last time.

We went over Saturday, not good. Jig Fished out end of Indian prairie caught 2 fish. Went down to Tin House 2 fish , fished Horse Island area nothing, went up to kings Bar nothing. So I would say the river is the best bet from what I am hearing. Fish are just not coming in yet . Let me know how you do when you get down.

I certainly will. I'll be down Feb 19th. Hope it gets better soon.
