Yea. I'll find some fish somewhere. I have a place there, been fishing it since 1992 when I was 24 years old. I'll find them somewhere, anyone hit Istokpoka, Garcia, or Kenansville?

The river mouth has Been producing fish. Out on the lake is pretty slow right now. Full moon is next week , that should get them going good.

Garcia is the closest lake for me and the one i prefer for that reason. However it has come to the point i have pretty much written it off because of the poor water conditions. The various types of weeds have pretty much consumed it and the ability to get from the launch area to the fishing locations. Also the water has become very shallow in some areas leading out from the launch. I have retreived a small aluminum boat from our PA hunting camp for a final attempt on moving about there. Also the very large tourist type airboats are more plentifull which cause much of the weed issues as they break them loose to float about and collect in large masses. Sometimes its impossible to even launch due to the weeds collected there. I havent been out to Kenansville since last spring but I don't anticipate any issues there. A call to the folks at the lake Marion Paradise fish camp could get you better answers.

We got a report from a local guide we're friends with up there as well, and it's basically more of the same. Slow bite right now with the water level being lower. That said, we tossed around the idea of just waiting until late January when we're booked to come back for the 2nd stint, but we decided we'll just hunt 'em down this week and enjoy our time off on the water. Still beats working, right! And, as slappycrapy mentioned, the full moon is Saturday, so that should get 'em in the mood later this week. I plan on sharing our report when I'm back home on Sunday.

The bite is day to day. I have a buddy who has went out everyday since last saturday, one day he hit 6, the next 2 days he caught his limit fishing in the reeds, the next day, same spot 0 fish. The fish this year are a little behind schedule. The mouth of the river is producing like always.

I guess you never know what the weather will do, but this is customarily the dry part of the year. It's probably only going to get worse between now and March. Fishing is usually good in March, but I was here last Dec and Jan, and never went without a limit.

Went out today for the first time this winter. Put in at Okee Tantie, fished from the Buck Head poles, to third point, to Tin House, past IP canal. Never fished long anywhere, but never had a bite in about 3.5 hours. Never saw the first sprig of hydrilla either. Spraying has been rampant. I'm not going to give up, but my hopes are a little dashed after today.
