    Default Kyaking on Talquin

OK all you Talquin experts. I live in Pensacola and I find it hard to find any Crappie. I miss my Crappie. Is there a place that I can put in and fish from my kyak and catch some Crappie with out having to paddle more than a couple miles? Not looking for hot spots just some places close to a launch point. Mostly because of any weather that may come up.

This time of the year, you can put in at Lake Talquin Lodge, Whippoorwill Sportsman's Lodge, Ingram's Marina or Pat Thomas State Park and be well within a couple of miles, probably closer, to catching some good fish.

The crappie are deep on main lake this time of year. If fishing from a kayak I would put in at Coes or High Bluff and go up river. On Highway 90 and fish south. There is a ramp below the dam that you can usually a ton at too. Right now water is up and muddy. Also could try Ocheesee Pond in Sneads. Deer point Lake in PC is pretty good too.
