Up2specks might have a little insight to that area. I’m on the wrong coast to be of any help.

Tsala Apopka chain(10-11 lake configurations) from Floral City, Inverness, Hernando can be a challenging fishery as illustrated by FCC's schedule tapering over the past few years. I personally travel(up to 2 hrs) for more reliable expectations. Rousseau(Dunnellon) was devastated by Hurricane Irma with significant oxygen depletion/fish mortality. Haven't fished there since the impact.

I haven't seriously fished Henderson this year (yet). I stick close to home in Floral City, but they're out there. Just gotta hunt em.

Fish there with some success. Close proximity so worth a try. Any reasons not to?

Well, personally, yes. I used to hammer specks there big time, know the attached lakes well. My last two occasions, admittedly last year, I caught 0 specks with plenty largemouth to 3 lbs. and Gar and bluegill. I turned the page on that lake for the many other positive lakes in that region and outside the normal travel tolerance of most fisherman.
