    Default Wet Butt&Wet Boat

Don’t start back to work til next Monday and no rehab today so off I went in search of. Didn’t want to go far with the iffy forecast so I went up near Deland. First fish was a solid 12” and it went in the box. And then...... and then...... and then....... I finally got number two. Chunky enough to keep but small enough to get a pass, which he did. What seemed like two days later, I actually got a third, tough crowd, and it dwelled in tater chip mode. Back he went and look for more. Sky began threatening and spit a couple of times. Florida Boy eased by and said hello, out for the morning with his grandson Brice. Good to see y’all. So as per usual, I was facing south and a shower snuck in from the north. Ran for the bridge and had to spend the entire shower trying to stay out of the rain. Not so easy like it sounds when the wind was blowing the rain 3/4 of the way under it. It finally passed and I wasn’t taking any chances so despite all the fun and loads of fish, I headed for the ramp. On the trailer without rain or incident and rain all the way to the house. In the yard, under cover with no rain. Go inside and fix some lunch and look out the window to see the clouds have unzipped. A little prayer of thanks was said and I settled into my lunch. I don’t think I’m going to press my luck until maybe Saturday. I hope everyone has an outstanding Thanksgiving, I know have plenty of things to give thanks for. Happy turkey and football.....Skeet.

Yep, I got out too, for about 15 minutes before it down poured. Luckily bridge was right there. I just beat the rain getting to the bridge, was kinda funny watching it cross the water behind me. But yep, also good to get out even if it was only for a few. I caught one!

Skeetbum, it's nice seeing you and talking to you today, and we should have hung around and chatted with you a little longer cause man did we get drowned after we left you. The bite was slow, ended up with a couple more and we were water logged so we called it a day. Crappie weather but good times with the grandson. Haven't been on for a while but Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.

Thanks for the good words guys. Without intent of blowing my own horn, i read something a short while back that I would like to share. Mind you, this is simply what went through my mind at the time. The article was about a man named Charles Waterman. Charlie to anyone that knew him or read his outdoor writing anywhere along his over 40 year career. He was educated in many things to do with the outdoors. Those he called friend loved him dearly, a man among many men. As his career progressed there were opinions made about what he did and what a pleasure he was to be around. I thought at the time, I hope to be remembered a small percentage as well as this man has been. While he was educated he also wrote in a fashion that was entertaining which set him apart from the rest. It was said that several could write a story about some event and leave their names off of them and every reader would pick his out of the bunch. What one of his long time friends said is what stuck in my mind. While anyone could convey the information, it was Charlie that told the story. That one sentence had meaning to me. I’m not very educated by school standards and have spent most of my working life in menial blue collar work. Until I joined this site, anything i wrote went unnoticed. A lot of you folks have said that “when I tell the story, it’s like I’m sitting alongside of you”. A storyteller. I have spent many hours reading and think of this as where my ability has come from. Were I to stand alongside Charlie, I would be in the presence of greatness. You all give me a high compliment when you compliment me as many have him. Thank You.
