Looks like the color patter was whatever was in the water. A fun day and kudos for paying it forward with the bank fishing family!.
Been tied up with irrigation zone replacement, busted torsion spring on the garage door & the trifecta...blown compressor on AC/heat pump system the past few weeks, but thankful all behind me now, 18 yrs is tough on a Florida home I guess....soooo this morning was a break to get out & wet a few lines...Was met with 10 mph wind & 50ish degrees at daybreak, but was going to make the best of it. Wasn't alone, between hunters & fisherman there was probably 25 boats in the parking lot. The fish were bunched up all over the lake, caught 3-4 at the same time on at least 6 occasions (1 in pic below). Color didn't much matter, they seemed hungry post-front. By 10am had a limit & the wind died to a slight ripple, so had a ball upgrading the next couple hrs. Called a friend that lives on the lake, but wasn't home, so was happy to find a VERY grateful family bank fishing, that thanked over & over for the fish that were caught on the lake. Couldn't resist the "future/stock" pic with the speck barely bigger than the jigs...all in all received a LiL' Mercy this morning for the tough past weeks & am recharged to an extent...tight-lines all, luv this time of year!!

YOU, my friend, had a stellar day!! Extra mega kudos for the giveaway. I have had that opportunity in the past and I still smile when I think about it. Sorry I wasn’t able to make it, looks like you were real busy. We have to go soon......

Nice work!! Glad you got the bad luck stuff behind you. Oh yeah, I'm well familiar with how bad things seem to come in coveys of at least three or more things right in a row... that seem to take a man's breath from time to time. Hopefully you'll have a stretch of good luck on the water that'll take your mind off of all the bad stuff for a good long time.

Great day for sure, good call going to Harney, couldnt buy a bite this morning. Oh and in case you were thinking about it, they are dredging in front of Swoop ramp and the entire east bank of that river is lined with bouys and dredge line. I didnt get south to your culvert area but looks like they probably dredged that creek to. Dredging everything in area of inlet. I thought they were just going to dredge around disappearing island and lighthouse.

Almost felt a little guilty about the giveaway, in that the family boarder line acted as if there dinner depended on it, but knew wasn't the case, I think selective harvest is good on river system lakes, but feel differently about land-locked lakes. I've been fortunate to have my "quota" for the year & admit I have to look over my shoulder when placing a fish back that Phantom's ghost doesn't slap me upside the back of the head...any who felt good driving home that it was appreciated & wouldn't go to waste, meant a world of difference...
crappie down !
Interesting on the dredging, can probably kiss the spill=way spot goodbye, thought that long flat leading to deeper water was a key....all for the inlet to be maintained, but leave the back-waters alone...another example of land development over ruling common sense...
