    Default stick steer boat

I am in the market for a stick steer boat. Anyone got a brand they like better than others? looking for something 17' or less and at least 54" wide, getting old and not as stable as I once was, any input would be great, thanks

Here is the one I have. I love it. Had it about 5 years. Guys will tell you the beat you up and you get wet sitting in front. Both are true to a point. But I fish in some pretty rough water and it handles it just as well as side consol boats of a comproable size. Get sprayed once in a while but not often. I run a 50 Yamaha 4 stroke with stainless prop. It has plenty of power and speed and prop'ed right it trims out with plenty of bow lift to keep you from getting pounded. And I weigh 250 and carry a ton of gear in my boat.
    2 things I don't like
#1 not a lot of clearance between front seat and steering stick on left and motor control on right
#2 the back seat base is mounted to far to the rear for someone to turn completely to rear of boat to fish. If I was buying one new I would order and have that base moved forward 12 inches. I removed mine and got a single seat 4 legged seat stool from Tempress and mounted a mellinum seat on it. I long line or pull cranks from the rear and can move it around to get comfortable.

I have an xpress stick steer 16PF that I like. If the water gets rough you can slow down just a little and trim it up and rides good. I’ve never got any wetter ( probably not as wet) than I have in a console. My son has the same boat as Cray. The War Eagle is a little nicer and bigger boat but doesn’t have as much storage as the Xpress. Both are good boats.

My dad actually has a 754vs War Eagle he is selling. Has Merc 60 and motorguide 54lb TM on it with a Garmin Striker 7SV. It’s a 2010 model. Believe he wants $9500 for it. It’s in great shape. He lives in Dothan,AL.
