Here's another reason I showed up late to the event yesterday, I was in SC fishing with Whitey Outlaw at a writers camp. I drove 7 hours home late Friday night and got very little sleep. I also received the Driftmaster rod holders for my Key West from owner David Baynard while in SC, ergo the need to install them Saturday while on the water! doh

Sure was great to see everyone. Wish we were able to spend more time together. I needed some pointers on Monroe. I wasn't even sure where I could motor up! They got weird signage. I seen Flycaster speeding by just about all the way to the bridge, so I guess that area it was OK to get on the power.
I think it would be worth a long drive to spend some time fishing with Whitey Outlaw.

Be careful if you turn north also because you will be approaching thos manatee signs from the side and they can be difficult to see.
Also there is a sand bar ( shallow water ) on that point. If you cut across it you run the chance of running aground. I have pulled a few boats off of it in the past. And FWC will sometimes sit out in the area watching for people that cut that corner. I have seen them nail some bluegill fishermen doing that.

another good day at the office !

We got dumped on. Soaked to the bone. I told Billbob we should prolly leave cause we might just get wet with the clouds coming in, in the distance. He said I’ve gotten wet before. But then we finally decided to go and the wind kicked up and the big rains hit us about 300 yards from the bridge. Then we had to go slow and wet all the rest of the way. 50 yards from the dock, the rain stopped!

But good day after all. 14 fish caught. 4 were real nice. Half the others were just babies. Lol
