I went out on Monroe yesterday, and caught 23. Five we're over 1#. WT was 89. Wanted to try long-lining, so. Set a 14' and a 10' off each side, and pushed two 14's out front. Ran between 1.2-1.6 mph. Most of the day I caught them on the front poles. So I switched two of the side poles to the front - and then I started catching them out back. Wed 9-19-18 Lake Monroe Broke a rod tip on a 5' gar. Time to call it a day. But all of our favorite fisheees are there back in the lake waiting for the next fisherman.

Sounds like a great day even with the warm temps !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

    Hey Jim,

Been watching a (old) guy in a small old fiberglass boat running a 9.9 trolling. Watched him for years, he runs at 2mph or more has broomstick rods out the side of the boat (tight line) just kills the fish. I think he's a commercial fisherman as I have watched him pulling trot tines too. Never got close enough to see what he was trolling but he sure does well when the bite is on.

Just goes to show you that we don't really need all this fancy gear. It works just as well doing the basics.

Did i tell you I was going to pick up a new electric trolling motor next week ?? lol

another good day at the office !
