    Default Changing over

With all these good reports coming off of Lake Monroe, I just could not take it any more.

So today I spent the day changing the boat over from summer shrimping to crappie fishing. I stored all the cast nests and stuff and took out all my long rods. lures and the landing net ( almost forgot the net ). Check every thing over and even made sure that I had the rod holders on board. I charged up the trolling battery and gassed up the boat. I am ready to go give it a try.

I plan to be out there on Thursday and / or Friday. I'll be launching off of the Enterprise ramp. I should be on the water by 7 am.

another good day at the office !

Best if luck to ya. When I came home from the coast 3 weeks ago I DiD the same. Just took me 3 weeks to get out there. Missed all of last fall, winter and most of the spring. Can't wait for the heat to break a bit, hoping to make some quick afternoon trips this fall as well as weekends. Have several camping trips coming up too.

Good luck to you Jim, and be careful using that ramp, it always makes me nervous.

That ramp is best to use when you have a second person to watch the traffic. I don't always have a second with me so I take it VERY slow and easy.

I got up early this morning, 6:30. and It was already light out. I think I'll adjust my start time for the fishing trip. I want to be there for first light.

I like being out early but history shows the bite is slow till around 7:30 for some reason. But if by 7:45 and still slow I start changing things pretty rapidly. But for sure like being at ramp early to beat the rush.

I can just sit and watch the sunrise and drink coffee on some days. Early is always good.

My best bite is just when it's light enough to see.... Fish ain't got no watches
