Default Lake Santa Fe and Little Santa Fe

Don and I fished (mostly) Little Santa Fe this morning and did not do well. We were longlining both cranks and jigs. We either tightline (pushing jigs) or longline.
    Lures only, no minnows.

We just could not find fish in open water. Tried the deep center (22 feet) and around the perimeter, usually in about 10 feet of water.

If anyone knows the lake(s) and can offer some advice, it would be appreciated.

    Tom

Santa Fe and Little Santa Fe are hard lakes for me to fish. Best I can tell there's very little structure and they are pretty much bowl shaped. I do hear of some good crappie catches coming from there in the winter. I just must not be holding my mouth right.

There is no crappie in that lake I caught the last one last week when we went. Well maybe not. We were seeing fish on the 360 but they sure wasn't biting except for the gar that hit my Bandit 300. Don

I fished a lake that sounds like the one you speak of. The only weeds in the lake was around the edge and I came up blank also. I always wondered if I had known how to fish the weeds like I do today if I would have done any better. Just some input.
