    Default Took a friend

That at 39 years old, had never fished from a boat before. Canoe was as much of a floating vehicle that he had ever been in. We found a few fish, some good Crappie close to a pound, and went to an area on the river I had been told of but never fished. Small area and tight quarters, we did the jig and cork to find what was around. Some shellcrackers showed up, one was a real good one and looked like it was carrying a golf ball. That makes me happy and gives me cause to look for some beds nearby. Can't wait to spend some time looking. If you have any areas that have been good to you in the past, it would be a good time to go look em over. Hope you find some....Skeet.

Took advantage of the wind yesterday and cleaned and relined all my trolling poles. One less task to complete come September. I also made a few changes. Equipment getting pretty beaten so I bought 4 new 5' combos for pullin straight out the back, 8's were replaced last January so the long poles(10', 12' and 16' all times 2) got replaced. Went back to the telescoping poles that I used prior to the 3 piece been using last 6 years or so. Same reels though. Them dang ole Shimano IX1000',s sure dont owe me a penny, going on about 13 years now and they sure aint been pampered.
