    Default Clermont area

Heading down to Clermont on 4/19 for a turkey hunt. Obviously, a ton of lakes in the area. How is the crappie fishing right now? I may have a chance to fish if i can kill a bird. Plan to take a spinning rod and jigs. WOnt have the option to troll ,but may have access to a small boat. Are the specs spawning still? Any recommendations on which lake to try? Possibly may have access to a private lake as well, if im lucky.

The spawn is over for the most part. The cool nights may still some holding out. Nothing beats a failure but a try...

Well thats cool. I know the water in those lakes typically isnt that deep. Should still be a decent chance at finding a few.

Good luck on your turkey hunt. Seeing very few with hens lately. Think the hens are all nested up for the most part. Did you score a quota hunt or are you hunting private land? I have not drawn a quota hunt in about 8 years.
