We just spent a week fishing both lakes, hopefully the weather will be better for you, and by the looks of the egg sacks you might hit the spawn. Obtw keep your eyes peeled for the gators

Crappiemasters got first legs of FL State championship down there this weekend so look for the results. Although from looks of weather most of the fishing may take place on the river.

Seems most Florida lakes are shallow, but I did find 2 areas on Dexter that were 10-12ft and held fish, also was told by2 local anglers that Dexter gets fished a lot more than Woodruf and they preferred making the trip to Woodruf. Hope this helps

Good luck catching, Redeli. Look forward to reading your report. We will be there Feb 26-Mar 1, fishing for those Dexter/Woodruff/River crappie. Will take any crappie-catching advise. We'll be staying at South Moon Fish Camp.
    Thanks.

This is the place I stay when I fish the river, Dexter and Woodruff. Anglers Riverside Retreat on the St. Johns River in Astor Florida

Good people. They have cabins, bait and a very friendly local beer bar. Tell them John Sparks sent you. Best of luck fishing.
