    Default Anybody fishing Lake Kissimmee

Can someone give report on lake conditions and fishing report? Is vegetation a problem?

I am going there tomorrow. I called the State Park office and they told me the specks are biting well. They did not know about how the bass are feeding. I will let you know what I find out. One other thing when I Googled the lake there are several fish camps on it and you could call one of them for more details. If you go let me know how you do.

Fished Kissimmee today and only caught 1 speck on a pink/chartruse jig at 8 ft. Talked with people in three other boats and 1 boat caught 1 spec and the other 2 boats did not catch anything. I used only jigs and multiple color combinations fished at different depths. The other fish I know of was caught on a jig. I also checked the carcass bin at the cleaning station at the dock and only saw three in there at 3:00 PM. The hosts at the state park were not fishermen but they said they had heard stories that people were having good luck so maybe I just hit it at the wrong time. From the reports I heard the most fish were being caught along the grass lines. I saw maybe 10 boats doing that and while I was close enough to watch them I did not see any fish brought in. The water in the lake was very dark and cloudy. Near Tiger Creek I did see some algae floating on top of the water. Vegetation was not a problem on the lake. The 1 speck I caught was between Bird and Brahma Islands in 15 feet of water at a depth of 8 feet. Sorry i could not be of more help and I hope you have a good trip.

The grass line along the east side of Bird Island is usually very productive. Unfortunately I haven't been down in a while.
