    Default Harney & Jessup today

Well the good news is I caught 6 in Harney, so there is still fish, buttttt they were all smaller than 8", convinced it's going to be the worst year in at least 15 yrs. I've been fishing this lake...hope I'm wrong, however, Irma appears to have flushed the lake to renewal, fished 7:30 - 10. Tried my luck at Jessup & caught 4, a couple 12"ers & a couple 10"ers from 10:30-1pm...all went back in the water, 1 of the 12"ers came in like a log, no fight what so ever, water temps 49F-51F, swear that 1 said, sure release me now when I'm ready for a "HOT" grease bath ....anyways a slowwww morning. All caught on jigs, except the "Log" which gulped a beetle spin.

Glad to hear it was a good day, even if the fish didn't cooperate.

I am probably going to fish Jesup this coming weekend. I haven't been crappie fishing in nearly two years. Were you fishing east or west of the bridge? I drove across the lake around 2 pm on Saturday and saw 2 boats just north west of the bridge.

Thanks for the info Jeff, I've been wanting to get back down there myself but may have to wait til Sept & see how things work out.

That's 1 of my favorite places on the St Johns, hopefully no hurricanes for the next few years.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Thanks for the report. I am planning on heading down that way in two weeks. Hopefully the specks and the shad will be more active.
