    Default Butler Chain of Lakes-Windermere

I will be visiting some in laws next week and looking for any pointers on the crappie population in the Butler Chain of Lakes. I will be traveling from Tennessee and looking forward to fishing a little with my six year old daughter in some warmer weather. It snowed at my house this week. I have read that those lakes are clear and can be some tough fishing. Looking for any help I can get and hoping to get my daughter her first fish. I will have access to a ski boat (no TM or sonar) but not sure what the pattern is like in FL. Crappie still in prespawn on my home lake. I have gotten some great response sending some PMs to some CDC regulars. Any other tips are greatly appreciated.

Try to set up a drift along the visible weedlines. Should be specks in em. Lots of bass.

Thanks. Do you like to use a float while drifting? Is there any depth I should target?

If I was drifting I would. Most of the visible weedlines are going to be in less than 5' I would imagine.
