    Default Jigging

Any thoughts on single pole jigging for Thurs and Fri the 16th and 17th in the reeds and grass
in Big "O". My son is down from Lexington Ky and we are thinking about coming down from
Tavares and give it a try.
    Thanks,
    Joe

I just got back from there, I spent a week at Roland martins I jiggled a lot with a tinsel jig I got from Roland's bait shop pink head white tail. I caught a few in clewiston some in lily pads others along bushes on canal. Picked up bass and gills on some jig. Also went to evergldes caught oscars and a peacock. Spent a day on north end of lake but it was slow. I think weather was bad and I was new to crappie on lake o. I lost one jig to an oscar that stabbed my hand. Only tackle I lost all week whuch was strange. Years ago up north where I live l lost six rapalas one day.

I also had luck with crappie minnow two foot below small ice fishing type bobber with now split shot last week. Picked up more largemouth crappie fishing then throwing bass lures when I did minmowmthing too. I picked up a 12 ft vexan rod at fast break tackle. I did good all week for me. I got a few more different lengths on way home for future trips they are that good.

Just got back from the big O and caught all fish jigging. Mostly chartreuse but fished many colors but the greens seemed to stand out. The area I fished the specks seemed to be feeding not spawing so don't be afraid to fish the open water near the reeds. Cleaned 350 or so fish and only a dozen or so had eggs.

Kings bar, Indian prairie canal, tin house cove. These are all great places . Fish the edges like you mentioned. Early morning at day break and late evening. Don't spend too much time in one spot. You will know if you are on them. Work the reeds good and keep moving. Around the edges. You will get some nice size fish.
