Great day Jeff. I fished the river north of Monroe, caught 8 along with a very healthy bass and 1 big bluegill. Left em all to swim another day. The river is very low on this end too.
What a day of fishing, had a limit of specks by 9:30am, caught largemouth, tilapia, foul hooked a 3 ft gar in the tail, & finished the afternoon meeting up with Crappieday & his bud who were gracious enough to show me how to catch shad without being by mistake trolling, landed 8 shad before they moved on, good seeing you guys & that jerky was delicious Andy, thanks. Also seen a fighter jet do acrobatics for 20 minutes just off the lake, cell phone pic no good, let's see, the river was flowing south & the sanding banks due to the low river might have reality folks selling beach front property soon...so much happening I'm sure I forgot something...a few pics from the day.

Great day Jeff !! Nice pics
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"Speck Detector LIKED above post
Great catch . Can you tell how y'all caught the big shad? Awesome catfish bait n Alabama
Probably won't be much help to ya because these shad come from the ocean & run the St. John's river south to spawn every year between January & February, most catch them by accident trolling jigs, although some more versed shad enthusiast will use fly rod, ect....you probably would be hard pressed to find shad this size other than the great lakes. I'm sure your right about them being a great cut bait.

Thanks Speck Detector, I catch a couple every year tolling. I have a buddy that gets some bow fishing but not enough to share.
