    Default one of them days

That we all hope for. Was not sure what the weather was going to do today. Woke up at 6:30 and took a peek outside and all looked good, so I loaded the boat up and grabbed the dog and headed to the river. Been looking at these 2 little coves for years and swearing to one day give em a go. Checked the first one and they had recently sprayed the weedsl and it was pretty nasty. Wheeled er around and headed to the next. Pulled in and right away saw the glass minnows showering on the banks in multiple locations and shut er down. Fished that cove till clouds started looking bad and headed out for home. Fished Southern Pro Appleseed tubes on a 1/48oz minnowhead inserted. Never picked up a different pole or color. The Warmouth had completely taken hold of that cove. Caught 75 and kept 16 over 9" along with an 11" Speck and a butterball bullhead. Shared the cove with Whistling ducks, Wood ducks, Wood Storks, Blue Herons and Turkeys. Did not get any on water picks as I was just to occupied with everything and I did not even think of pics. Fish would not hold still for group pose before cleaning, so all I got was a porn shot with pants off.

Sure had a great time and would sure liked to have been able to fish a few more hours. River is dropping good and is almost completely back inside her banks. Looks like we gonna have a stellar spring and summer for bream and the likes. Them Warmouth was sure fed up fat and happy witb the flooded buffet they have had all winter. You need to dust off yer bream poles Speckanator, game is on.

Great trip Mike. I hit one like that years ago. My oldest girl and I caught 90 and a few bass, using 4 inch worms. It was in a smallish dead end covered with duck seed in the atchafalaya basin. We kept about 50. Of course I'm talking 30 years ago, but I remember it, because that was the day she really learned to set the hook. Now I never keep that many, way to many to clean. (also, never catch that many anymore. lol)

Very nice day Mike !! Brings back some good memories for me.

I took some family that was in town to the salt Sat, we caught a bunch of bonnetheads & channel cats, a few ladyfish & jack crevalle, 1 black drum.

We were gonna try to run the beach & get on the cobia run but the weather held us off.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Lucky you found anything, have you seen all the videos from Titusville and Canaveral areas of the fish kill in Lagoon this weekend. Looking like a very bad summer coming for the lagoons. Hopefully it will somehow survive this summer. Not looking good though.
