    Default Crescent Beating

We went up Friday morning & fished Crescent to try & find some good fish. Friday was a good day we had around 10.5 lbs in 7 fish just fishin from 9:30 am to 1:30pm. It was prolly the best weather I've ever experienced at Crescent as far as the wind goes but it was very chilly both Friday & Saturday. Sorry no pics of specks just forgot to take any on Friday & Saturday was very rough, here's what the lake looked like at 7AM & it got worse through the day until about 4PM.

For those of you that fished the slabtogether on the 11th, that was nothing compared to these conditions we had water over the front & back of the boat several times.

Crappielover you'll like this, we were able to put a saltwater fish in the boat from Crescent, caught this 19" Redfish. I think he thought he was in the ocean too, he was released back to the water after a picture.

Anyway we tried to stay in Crescent on Saturday as long as we could & caught a few fish. Ended up goin to Dead Lake to find some calmer water, caught some more good fish but no big ones. We weighed in under 7 lbs & ended at 23rd place but it was an accomplishment to weigh in 7 fish with what we were dealt.
Congratulations to the winners & all that braved the rough conditions of wind & cold.

Tough day for sure, we went directly to dead lake and caught some good fish. Only had a few boats in there until about 11am but than they started to march in. Your right the conditions were much worse than the slab fest. I had my wife and son with me and we were very cold and quit by 12:30. Nice red, glad you got to weigh in 7.

Those pics just don't do the conditions justice. That was about the roughest wind I have ever fished in for that long. We also had water coming in from the front and back of the boats at times. But it was cool to see that crappie coming in on the top of one of those 3 foot rollers It was good to see you at Slabtogether and at CUSA. Maybe we'll get together and fish together sooner this year. Congrats on the "survival test" Saturday

Tim you are right, the pictures don't look that bad. It was a test for sure & we were still able to catch fish just not the big ones we needed.

Had a great time the past 2 weekends & love fishin that area. If you are ever in the area, let me know will definately meet you there anytime so long as I ain't w*rkin

It always gets rough/windy on tournament day, did the same thing last year - just not as bad.

I will still always go & give it my best !!

.....No, I have a cousin and her husband renting the same house we stayed in next month. They invited me down so I just may go....But there is no doubt that Crescent is the better lake of the 2 for the quantity of quality!!!
