    Default SPECKLED SURPRISE

Usually don't post my salt water trips, but I thought those that target Red's & Sea Trout would find it interesting that today I caught a Trout that appeared to be a cross-breeder with a Red. It's the middle fish in pic & as you can see the tail has a red tint & the body spots are different than the other 2 normal looking trout. It had it's gator fang, like the other 2, but was convinced it was a Red before netting. It's skin was also thicker than normal Trout, although the meat was just like Trout. Was at Ponce Inlet inter-coastal & also had a good battle with a Permit in the other pic....few other under limit fish for a fair day in the salt.

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Thanks for the clarification Mike, learned something new, actually wasn't looking to good til about 10:30, then found the lucky spot...the tidal flows are crazy over there, my lines were 1 direction & the boat was anchored in the other direction.

I much prefer fishing Edgewater and north. Yep tides are great things, helps set the fish up too.

That should be the Swoop Plant Ramp, next to the old Utilities Commission station. It's a nice ramp & sometimes not as busy at the Causeway ramps unless there's a party on Disappearing Island then I've seen trucks & trailers parked down the side of US1.

I live closer to 95 off 44, if you see the new Dodge dealership going in, I live behind that in what's left of the woods in that area. Got a 100 house neighborhood going in on the other side of me too
