Default Fish Camp/Campgrounds/RV Sites in the Sunshine State?

Been sifting through the Google pages for a while in my search for a decent place to speak to about parking my travel trailer down FL way several months out of the year. Sounds snowbirdish, don't it? It ain't gonna happen this year but my plans are to hit it next fall/winter (2017). I've been all over FL in my truckin' days and fished many places from J'Ville to central parts. Having retired now, I'm getting my stuff ready now to see this happen next year.

It hit me that there should be a lot of FL C.com'ers that could send me in a good direction. I'm looking at several places at the moment but I am wide open. South end of Kissisimmee/Lake wales, Okee, Topo,??? I won't need a huge site and I'd prefer a 30 amp spot that has elec, sewer, water, etc and a slip for a small Xpress aluminum to put a 28 footer on for a spell. I may end up pulling roots entirely and go full snowbird in the future but I'd like to test the waters, so to speak, before I make the commitment.

Can anyone post some recommendations that I could check on? I probably need to start the process early cause I am guessing some smaller places may fill up and I'm sure some places already have a steady stream of dedicated folks that return every year. I'm thinking I might start to join the ranks of the every year bunch myself once I find that just right place. Kentucky born n bred here so I can't see me leaving all these KY specks up here for the entire year but I expect to spend more time in a more southern exposure from here on till they plant me up on the creek under that big ol' shady oak.

    Thanks in advance.

    KiK/Carl

Cant help ya much down south or over on the west side, but around here the only place that actually stores in off months is Highland Park Fish Camp that also has the amenities you are looking for. At least in freshwater anyway. Probably a ton down south and over west by lakeland and even north around Crescent. Another is Lake Talquin Lodge, but not neessarily a storage area for off season. Highland Park has off season storage and then sites for use and slips. Good luck in your search. And yes looking way ahead is best. Heck even looking for a weekend getaway you need to plan months in advance down here anymore.

Thanks huntinslabs. I wasn't actually inquiring about storage so much. I was looking for places to rent to park my travel trailer for months at a time (seasonal). I'd just tote it back north when the time was up. Around/on Talquin is a possibility as well.

We go to Lake Okeechobee each April for a weeks fishing. We stay at Roland Martin Resort and Marina in Clewiston. There is a campground right beside our condo and on the shore of the lake. Plenty of good fishing in the lake and the everglades from there. Here is a link to the site.

Thanks SeaRay. I used to go down every year too...stayed at an old hotel/motel there in Moore Haven. Roland's place looks nice but he's at the high end on his monthly RV rates according to the site. But appreciate the reply.

Grape Hammock Fish Camp, Lake Wales, Fl. This place would meet your needs, they have a website.

Thanks Marvin. I had that one on my short list. Are you familiar with the place at all?
