    Default Hello from Lakeland

New guy here. Been creeping this board for awhile.

Name is Nick, 29 years old. Live in North Lakeland. Work in drinking water chemistry/microbiology but also know my way around hand tools and mechanics. Hunt a lot, fish a lot, both salt and fresh. Make my own wine and an occasional batch of beer.

I have a 16ft mud boat with a longtail mud motor, 21' 91 javelin bass boat (currently down), and am in the midst of a small pontoon rebuild.

I'm new to speck fishing, having only been a couple times with other people, but I am pretty determined to spend a good bit of time learning it this fall/winter. I just wrapped up a few projects, and building a cheap removable rod holder set up for my mud boat is on the list. The 'toon will be the main speck fishing rig once I get it finished, but it'll be a bit before I get it finished.

Anyways, thought I'd introduce myself to the FL guys. Look forward to gaining more knowledge and hopefully not asking too many stupid questions.

If anyone is local and is willing to trade some labor, gas/beer money, boat cleaning/work, grouper fillets, or deer meat for speck fishing knowledge, I'd be more than happy to contribute more than a fair share for the opportunity to lessen my learning curve. I know how it goes though.

Welcome! You got some good company in your area. Pescador, fishin813, Marv, Davedirt, Tundah and Yelim off the top of my head. Post any questions or anything else on the main Fl page so more people see it. And we like all outdoor ventures and lots of pics.

I hunted in McRae, GA last year. Between the ole lady and I, we put 7 in the freezer. This year I'll be hunting my backyard and WMAs. I have 4 acres that butts up to a bunch of state land and managed to whack a couple each year.

The lease I was on came apart, and I'm trying to put as much cash in the bank as I can in preparation of buying a house when this market turns down, so I decided not to get on another.

WMA hunting is tough, that's for certain.
