Default Coolest thing I’ve ever seen…

My Dad was a really good shot with a shotgun. I was watching as a dove came flying by Dad one Sep. Dad fired one shot, and the dove fell from the sky towards Dad. He nonchalantly caught the dove as it fell in his right hand, and slipped it into his bird vest. Looked up and smiled, like “Yea, I know I’m cool”. That was pretty Awesome, I’ll admit.

Fast forward a few years, Dad and I were duck hunting. We were walking in to the hunting area. I saw a duck flying over, but it wasn’t close enough to to even try hiding. I said, there’s a duck, and Dad raised his shotgun and fired a shot. The duck folded, stone dead. Again the duck was falling towards Dad. He quickly handed he his shotgun, and tried to catch that falling duck. Apparently, the physics are a little different between a falling dove, and a Mallard duck at terminal velocity. When that duck hit Dad in the chest, it knocked him straight down into the mud! Dad held onto the Duck for the reception. Yea, that was also pretty awesome’er

I can imagine a duck at terminal velocity packs quite the punch. Great story
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along

Very cool, but more of a hunting story than fishing. I can move it if you want.
