A buddy and I went fishing on his little 2 man boat on a Fort Hood TX pond. He asked me to rig up his fly rod as he got us across the pond to fish a weed bank. As it was early I tied on a black Panfish Crack foam fly on his rod and a yellow one on mine. He eased us down the bank with the trolling motor, and we tossed our flies to pockets along the bank. Even though he was in the front of the boat, he wasn’t catching any fish. I was catching a mixture of bass and bluegill on just about every cast. After a while he said, I’m not cat catching anything on this black fly. My comment back was “Yea, I’ve been fishing this pond for years, and never caught a fish here on a black fly. Strange isn’t it?” I gave him my rod with the yellow fly, as I I tied a yellow fly on his rod. The other option was to swim back to the truck. :-)
That's funny stuff
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
