Default Only one fish, and it was her’s!

About a month ago my daughter and her fiancé flew in from Colorado for a visit and wanted to go fishing. They got one day licenses and I took them crappie fishing. They were in each end of the boat and I in the middle not fishing, just putting on minnows and netting fish. She caught a crappie and got all excited saying “ Did you see that dad? There was a HUGE fish trying to get my crappie! I’m gonna get that sucker! “ She was getting a drink out of the cooler while rebaited her hook and I threw it back out for her. It got hit before I could hand her the rod so I set the hook. The fight was on. I’m surprised it didn’t break off or wrap the line in brush but she netted it for me. It was a 6.86 lb bass. That’s the only time I had a rod in my hand all day. Just that one cast. The rest of that day and the whole visit she gave me hard time about catching “her” fish!
They had a ball and caught several crappie, some nice channel cats, and several bass up to 4 lbs or so. Not bad for a half day.
It’s hard to stumble when you’re on your knees.
