That is a heck of a find. Every now and again I drag out the metal detector and go after silver treasure. I have yet to dig up one of those.
Any of you ever try this? I had been interested for a while and finally ordered a couple magnets. Decided my first try would be at local park that's been there since the late 20's and still has a platform that was used for diving and swimming from the 1930's through 1990's. Thought it would be cool to bring up a steel penny from the 40's or something else old and cool but would never have guessed what I did find; a 1935 half dollar! The weird part is that this coin is 90% silver and a magnet won't pick it up. Luckily for me this coin was stuck to an old rusty washer that I brought up! Found some other items like hooks, sinkers, part of a lawn chair, some old nails, and a spoon, but I'll probably never find anything as cool as that silver coin again!
