Shore based fishermen chucking lead at others isnt a very rare thing.
Here in Florida many of the inlets have rock jettys on both sides to protect from erosion.
Some even have concrete platforms on them for anglers.
At certain times highly sought after species like Snook will congregate along those jettys.
Of corse the shore bound anglers feel boaters can fish anywhere, so stay away because these are our fish.
And 5 or 6 ounces of lead can be sent a long way to drive that point home.
Fact is however that it takes a certain type person who would purposely attempt to injure someone or worse over a fish.

I do understand both sides of that particular circumstance. It is not worth being hurt on either end of it. The old timers had a code. If you were in a spot first it was yours until you left it. No matter if you were on the bank or in a boat. You were fishing that spot of water.

Hitting them wasn't the point. It was to mainly let them know they were coming to close since only about half of us was out f the water and we were not able to get out of their way. I am a firm believer that jet skiers should not be allowed to operate within 100 feet of any shoreline. They should have to go straight out and then either go to open water are stay away from the shore.
    FISH ON
