That reminds me of the white bass I caught a few years ago. As we looked at my buddy said it was the biggest one-eyed white bass he had ever seen. Then when we walked around to the other side we realized it actually had both eyes.

Since most of us seem to fish alone, it is rather hard to have a whiteness or a picture unless you got a go pro.

Here is one of my evidenceless stories because no one was with me

My wife and I travel to Lake Lure in October to enjoy the leaves and the fishing. We rent the same cabin year after year that sits beside the Broad River (that is actually an oxymoron because the Broad River is about 20 feet wide for the most part). At the river frontage there are visible bass in small schools. Each year I take my gear and try and try and try to no avail, but never able to hook up with one.

A couple of years ago My Dad, Mother, and two nieces joined us at the cabin for the week. My dad and I fished everyday, didn't catch anything but kept right on fishing just the same. One late afternoon my dad went up to the cabin and left me by my lonesome. You got it, I finally hooked one of the bass and it was a nice one at about 16" ! Reeled it in, got the stringer setup and the darn fish slipped out of my hands, into the water, stringer and all. Out of a reaction I dove into the ice cold water only to have some gravel in my hands and completely soaked and freezing.

I walked up to the cabin, cold, wet, and frustrated. But that wasn't the hard part, no one believed me that I caught a fish!

Only a story told as true should be so. A yarn spun in jest or entertainment well certain freedoms should be taken to ensure a good story too tell
