Believe it or not we seem to have alot of those good times as well!! lol
Me, my dad, and Joe went to Arkabtula one time. We had put in at the ramp on the north side of the lake near the dam. The boat was a Glasstron I believe with a 150 evinrude on it. Well, the routine is for Joe to back the boat off the trailer, and we would park the truck. Now, we are on the north side of the lake with a strong South wind. So we pull up, get the boat parked and started walking down to the ramp, when we noticing Joe waiving franticly for us to bring the trailer back down. Well, this wasn't our first rodeo. Joe had left the plug out of the boat on several occasions. So my dad races to get the trailer backed down, but it is too late. See in the time it took to back the boat into the water, the wind was pushing waves into the transom of the boat, and the bilge had to be turned on manually. Well, by the time we got back down there, Joe was using his tackle box to dip water, and the transom was getting lower and lower. Now Joe, is an avid fisherman. We have been all over in his glasstron boat that I just loved. I mean all i ever fished out of was some flat bottom boat with a 9 1/2 johnson. But, Joe also couldn't swim a lick. I mean not even doggy paddle. He was also in the Guard and still couldn't swim. And for all of the other times that we had had, not once did the boat ever sink. We left the plug out at Lake Graham, and the motor caught on fire at Big Sandy. Back to the story. We saw that his bailing wasn't doing any good, so we yelled "Joe put on your life jacket". Now he isn't but about 40 yards from the ramp but he was going down fast. So there he goes trying to put on his life jacket: yes he didn't know how to put it on because he never wore it. I think he had one arm right and the other arm coming through the head hole or something. Looked kinda like someone who just got pulled over trying to hurry up and get there seat belt on before ole smoky got to the door. Well, finally after he saw that there was no hope he bailed off into the water, doggy paddling. He finally made it to the ramp, we had to call the police who in-turn called a diver to go in an hook to the boat. Insurance gave him a new bass tracker. Boy that was some good times.

I had a good day on the water today, but only the fishing conditions...and that's it. Glad everything came out well for you!

So sorry!
Sorry to hear of your woes. The only thing keeping that from being a "normal" fishing story is you did not lie about the size of your fish....
