I got a pelican at a place in Canada called Obabikon Bay. He came to eat a perch that I had on my line...FYI...it's illegal and a huge fine if you do this on purpose.
Caught a stingray once. Was fishing in Virginia. Had a walleye setup with a sinker tied about 4 feet up the line to let the bait kind of float off the bottom. Using hand dug night crawlers.
Evidentally the stingray swam over the worm and sucked it up. I fought that dang things for 30 minutes. I though I had a heck of a fish on until he broker the surface and I noticed it was a ray. Didn't jump out of the water, but broke surface enough to see his fin and realize what it was. I was on a pier about 10 feet off the top of the water. Got the ray half way out of the water and with no net, the line snapped.
Probably my best fishing story and every last word is true.

I knew I had a fish because my line kept going side to side and it was BIG. Well when I got it to the boat it was huge. A huge stick that was only going side to side because it was long lol. My Dad did grab something, he grabbed the camera (After he nearly fell in the bottom of the boat laughing) and took a pic of me and my HUGE stick fish.

I've lived at two different beaches in my life. The one thing about saltwater fishing is you sometimes never know what is at the end of the line. We caught several rays and skates(looks like a stingray, but the tail doesn't have a barb to sticky you with). Caught a seagull one time when he kep flying between our lines and finally ended up getting tangle up. Talk about a mess to get undone without getting pecked to death. I've caught horseshoe crabs, conchs, fowl hooked a sea turtle in the flipper and sometimes we would intentionally try to hit a surfer's surfboard if they were too close to where we were trying to fish....:D. But the funniest thing I've seen yet was done by someone I took fishing once. I took my old boss fishing, along with some other people I worked with. My boss was a lady who was really pumped up about going. We had anchored not too from the beach, off of a sunken rail car. My boss was fishing in the front of the boat. All of the sudden she set the hook and started the battle. She was laying in the floor with her legs up against the front of the boat for leverage. She was reeling down and pumping the rod as fast as she could, then drag would start coming off. She did this for about 5 minutes before I realized what she had. All I could do was laugh my butt off and try not to pee my pants. She asked what I was laughing about when I asked her if she was getting any leverage over her "catch". I then informed her that she was "battling" the anchor line.......... We all sat there and died laughling for at least 15 minutes. A memory I'll never forget, nor will she......

I caught a mussle the size of a coconut on a plastic worm. It had actually eaten the plastic worm.

Probably when me and some of my friends were fishin out at a pond that's at our high school, and I reeled in a piece of paper attached to a clipboard. I could still see written in pen the name of one of the friends I was fishin with, and it was an office referral paper. We needed oxygen we laughed so hard.

If you've got fishin' fever, I've got the fishin' PLAGUE!

Caught a cat on a hook before at our camp. I was in the process of baiting my line when my sister pulled up a fish, that I had to remove from the hook. I noticed my pole starting to move and set the hook, boy did I have a fight on my hands. I hadn't realized that I hadn't returned my bait to the water, but after my dad tanned my hide for not paying attention I never caught another cat.
Not caught on a hook, but one day at the landing I was leaving and caught some red lace panties in my prop.

Caught a water moccasin(posionous snake) down in TX once.So scare i had to let somebody else get rid of it,the dude just cut the head off.
I hooked an otter once down at the docks. It went and grabbed the minnow on my line hard, and I thought it was a big bass, so I set the hook hard. That thing swam under the dock and popped up a few slips away from me barkin' it's head off. Then I was like, "Uh-oh," and started to get my pocket knife when the line broke on its own.
I think I got one...
