I once caught a mallard duck while trout fishing. A great fight, but I felt bad when the line broke. The duck was later netted by my cousin, and the hook was removed.
Be careful when using a floating bait ( Berkley Power Bait) near ducks!!!:D
I saw some guys catching some of those one night down there. At the time, I didn't know there was such a thing.Originally Posted by SlabStalker95

I've caught a few strange things. I once snagged something that wasn't fighting very hard, got it in and it was a broke line started pulling in the line at the end was a rainbow trout. I have also snagged a car hood, looked to be a an old dodge hood. I have also snagged 3 or 4 poles while cat fishing I guess that had gotten pulled in. But, the funniest thing that I have ever caught was a thong, that made my dad double over w/ laughter!
I've caught an old pair of bermuda shorts and a straw hat.
Back in my bassin' days, I caught a trophy bullfrog on a plastic worm.
when i lived on the mississippi i caught a 5' cotton mouth, needless to say it was a see and release, did not want him on the boat,on a somber note same year my grandfather caught a drowning victim on a trot line, the body had traveled about 120 miles
When I was a kid me and some friends were fishing a small pond. Caught a coke can when reeling in my pole. Poured out the water in the can and a fingerling crappie just happened to be hideing out in the can. Also back in my younger days, remember catching a mudd puppy.
I have caught an owl while crappie fishing. It was right at dark when an owl swepts down attacks my red cork and gets caught.
I've had the same thing happen with a bat on a crank bait. It all most got me, because in the dark I thought I'd hooked a big leaf and was going to just pull it off, lucky for me my buddy happened to turn his light on just before it would have bitten me and I saw it. It was one mad bat!
