    Default 997 Hb Si Transducer

Has anyone had any trouble seeing both ways after mounting their transducer , I have an aluminum 17 ft. tracker and want to check before mounting my transdcer . I have heard of some people buying two transducer to see out of the left side because the motor is blocking the veiw ?

Its not cheap but I bought it the same time I bought the Humminbird 997. I think the extra transducer was like $250 but I'm really happy with it. I get as clear of images as there are. You can check them out for yourself.

Since I make maps I wanted to make sure I had the best. It also means I have a spare. All I have to do is take the Y cable out and hook to the good side.
Not every one has a problem but I'm using a 20hp which doesn't have much gap between it and the transom.

I have a targa 17' with a 90 on it and have no problems seeing both sides.
I mounted it about in the same place as the original was mounted.
I just mounted it a little lower to get it to work at higher speeds.
    It worked for me.

Here is a picture of the 997 transducer installed in the same location as the original transducer for the 17.5' Tracker. I have no trouble seeing both sides.

The star board (plastic wood) is screwed and glued to the boat. I used the same holes as the old transducer. The new transducer is screwed to the star board.
