What are you asking, if can you yes, if what to do with cable several options. Lots of YouTube videos on how to do it. If you have a specific question just ask away. Not going to get much response from just a title.

Sorry, been away quite awhile and while researching mounting a Lowrance Elite-7 TI and a MK V2 (?) from my 17' Sea Nymph over to my 16' Lowe Olympic hunting boat, I remembered this thread when it came up. And since the last person who asked a question hadn't received a response, I got a little cute by posting "crickets" as that was all anyone would hear...

    My apologies.

And now my search continues for what type of transponder to buy (or simply take it off (too) from the Sea Nymph) and how to safely install my V2 for when I might add a unit up front...I can't seem to recall which transponder the Elite-7 TI came with, or, what I should buy (what choices out there as I can't tell from Lowrance's _____ website). I already ordered a new Ram Mount and wiring harness for the Lowe.

    Sorry for the interruption.

    Carry on!

    Yes, still long-winded!

Not real familiar with the lorance ti unit transducers, I do know you shoul be able to mount the skimmer transducer on that motor with no problem and that would give you 2d which would be fine for most applications. I do know with the skag placement on v2 motors it is hard to mount some of the longer transducers that give SI and DI for lowrance. When you get to that point if you have questions just ask away.

Thank you. As I stated above, I've got new V2 and have already installed the Co-Pilot addon but would love an Ipilot, as long as it was a fair price.

Anyway, as I was researching the Ipilot and how to protect the transducer cable and that's how i ended up here and another thread. I guess my age, or lack of taking care of myself showed, when I (re)discovered in the other thread that they suggested the Cable Saver which is essentially an aluminum bracket and a strong hose to wrap around the transducer cable...

And that's where I saw I had been at that post years ago AND already bought the Saver for the other boat! Talk about embarrassed...

Anyway, it had worked for me before so I called to see about another to discover it had gone up in price. So instead of spending another bundle, it looks like I'll go the route described above but with some small modifications. I just hate to screw something up and the saying "measure twice, cut once" comes to mind.

With that said, I just hate drilling holes in a new (five year old) trolling motor! I watched two YouTube videos and will probably use a spring method but didnt see either video provide any protection for the cable itself. Say, like a heavy-duty hose, PVC, etc., just the spring and zip ties.

So that's an update BEFORE I drill, cut or the like.

HOWEVER, there is still time to offer suggestions, comments, feedback or the like.

    Thank you all again.
