Exide and Johnson Controls are competitors.

Do a google search on "johnson controls exide" and you'll find several web sites discussing the two companies.

BTW, Johnson Controls had 32 billion dollars in sales last year. That would buy a lot of minnows.:D

I had bad luck with the Optima battery. I also had the same bad luck with another brand, the one NAPA sells. The story is the Optima went bad and the Napa store quite selling Optima so they exchanged it for there new brand. It runs my trolling motor for about one hour. It test good but still will not run the motor very long. I purchase a new lead cell and it is doing fine. Go figure!
