Is there a particular angle it should sit or level as possible?
Early on when I would rotate it 180" it would try to go to down scan. What did that tell me?

I have mine set at Port Side Forward View (see page 6 of tlefire's link .. #1 alignment pic). A guy I fish with now & then has his in the same position, but has the front end of the tdx clicked UP a couple of clicks. He does this for a couple of reasons : one being so that he can see the surface splashdown of his jigs, so he knows if he's on target and to make sure he keeps his jigs visible on their descent ... the other (lesser) reason is because he don't need to know what's 10-15' behind the tdx. He wants to keep the fish onscreen and well out in front of him, and doesn't worry so much about what's under the boat or off to the sides of the boat (depending on which direction the tdx is pointing). He doesn't do much vertical presenting when fishing with Livescope.
I don't even bother moving my tdx to the downscan position, as I have a Hook 7 (tdx is on bottom of TM) that I can switch to Downscan if I wanted. I normally don't & just use the Hook screen for maps/GPS coords. It sits right underneath my Garmin unit, so both are always in view.
