Best way to see jig with LS

I’m not sure comparing settings will be very relevant. My waters and environment are sure to be different from yours. I did get a local crappie magician’s setting for the same lake I fish. They are saved and are used as a baseline when fishing that lake.

In south Louisiana our waters tend to be shallow (3-7 ft), often murky, with loads of vegetation. The screen is often filled with information. Since the water is shallow we tend to fish outward and close to the fish.

That's strange the braid didn't show up. I was curious about your settings due to the amount of filtering you can choose, I would guess the shallow water is making seeing your line and jig more difficult to see. Hope you get it figured out.

Somewhat. But if you aren’t seeing your braid something else is wrong. 99 percent of the problems people have as far as seeing their bait/line isn’t in the beam. That and/or trying to fish in the dead/weak areas of the beam.

If the jig goes down as stated in the main beam area it for sure is highly visible, those that think adding sparkle and other items don’t apparently understand how sonar works , solid is solid , braid likely shows up better due to it not being quite as slick as mono , deviation on surfaces will send returns with more visibly.

I run a quarter ounce egg sinker and sinker stop about 18 inches above my jig. As mentioned previously, due to being a harder material, tungsten jigs and sinkers will produce a brighter return than lead

I agree with bbrown549. I add a 1/4 oz egg sinker approx 12" above the jig and lower the jig down.
