Got an update.... On my 12 G3N, I did the reset and set things back up and went to the lake. No issues all day.
My Uncle with the 10 G4N, he pulled out his map card before powering it up. Booted fine and he left the Lake Master card out for over 4 hours before inserting it. Even after that he never had any issues.
So, not sure what to think of any of that. Just happy we had no issues.

Update: After about 20-30 attempts it finally booted and I was able to restore factory defaults and upgrade the FW. According to their website it's a $400 service fee +tax, so glad I don't have to send it in.
