Default Does anyone mount the LVS 34 to the trolling motor?

I currently have the Garmin transducer mounted to a pole that I can switch from port to starboard by unfastening a couple of knobs. Curious if anyone has the transducer on the trolling motor?

I fish for bass as well as crappie. The pole takes up some real-estate on the deck when I'm fishing shallow. I thought about moving it to the TM but really didn't know how well that would actually work out when in spot lock mode. I think there's a compromise either way but...

I use mine on the TM. Seems like all of your top fisherman in the tournament trails do as well. You do have to give up spot lock in some situations.

I figured fighting the pole, TM, and rod when trying to fight the wind was a little more than I wanted.

When fishing brush, after you get started, spot lock can be used. By then you know the direction and can count down your depth

I do see the need for it to be on the trolling motor for bass fishing ! And if you are chasing big roaming fish like the guys do in the crappie tournaments that’s where it needs to be . But if you fish brush piles in open rivers and lakes with current going one way and the wind going another trying to use spot lock and staying on the fish with the transducer on the TM it’s useless ! Absolutely love my fishing specialities pole so easy to move from side to side or just lay on the deck!

I have mine on my tm and it’s what works best for me. Lots of variables involved. I would love to have power poles to hold the boat when I’m single poling brush but I spider rig a lot and it is awesome having the ducer on the tm in that scenario. Kinda nice to have a free hand and the extra space too. Good luck with whatever you decide.

It looks like you have been running the rite hite for a while now. How are you liking it?

I too had my Active Target transducer on a pole that could be moved around the boat. It worked well but was aggravating at times trying to hold rods and needing to turn the pole. After making sure my trolling motor shaft was close to perpendicular to the water's surface, I built a powered turret last fall. With the turret the spot lock on the trolling motor cand do its thing and not affect the transducer. I also find it easier to hit my target when casting with the transducer on the very tip of the bow.
