    Default Graph mount idea?

Has anybody made an extendable graph mount out of a trailer jack? I thought about buying a cheap one & removing everything from inside it. Adding a plate to attach to front deck or a heavy duty ram mount to be able to fold it down & add a plate to other end to attach the gimble mount to then drilling holes up the length of jack to be able to raise it up & pin in place to get graph kind of level with your face. This would sure help the sore neck i'd think. If anybody has done this how have you liked it? Thanks

Different suggestion but will do everything you want. I bought a single rod holder from millennium marine. Removed the rod holder from the top and mounted my garmin 1022 on the top. I have height adjustment as well as angle adjustment and loosen one knob and it will allow fish finder to lay flat on deck of your boat. Works like a charm for less than a hundred bucks. Two knobs and you can remove completely from boat if need be. I know other members are using this set up. My boat is in storage away from my house or I would send you a pic. Adjustability is what sold me.

Just had another idea about building one out of a t v mount? I see one that will fold 90* which would allow you to fold down onto the deck when running then after raising would stand 23" & could extend to 65". What do you guys think about this idea?

Some use razor scooters to make and adjustable mount that will lay flat on the deck when folded
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along

Jack i saw one made from the razor scooter but he said it was only something like 24". Mine is that tall now but staring at the screen at that height kills my neck. I thought about going with the tv mount to get it to where i could get my neck straight. It would definitely be tall buy should be so much easier on my neck.

Does it not bother your alls neck? My neck & shoulders hurt me every time i go. Lots of times i'll end up with a slight headache for about 3 days after too which is caused by the neck hurting. No neckache no headache so i thought about trying this to see if it helped or not but i honestly think it would. That or arthritis is going to do me in.

I've never seen a trailer jack that extended much more than 24"

I think any mount that raises the screen more than 23" is just going to get in the way. My Cumberland Crappie mount will extend to that height, but I never raise it above the lowest height (~12"). I have to look at the top of the trolling motor to know where the tdx is pointing, so I know which direction to flip my jigs, all while watching the screen to make sure I keep the cover/fish on the screen and watch for my jigs to fall in their direction. Now ... I am sitting while I'm fishing this way, so the screen & trolling motor directional arrow are in view at the same time.

Here's a tip that might help save your neck .......... lower your eyes, not your whole head.
