Default Garmin Livescope LVS 32 vs LVS 34

I’ve done some research and saw that the 34 seems to be more clear, but the 32 seems like a good deal at $1000. Is the 34 really worth the extra $700? I already have the UHD 93SV so I don’t have to worry about the graph. Just seeing some guys say the 34 isn’t all that great for the extra money then others saying Garmin made big improvements. Just want some opinions from guys that have used both or at least one or the other and why you like what you like. Thanks for any help!

I'm in the same boat as you and I will be getting the LVS 32. The 34 is a little better but not $700 better in my opinion. My only decision is should I buy a used unit or should I wait for Christmas and see if Garmin has a black friday deal. For the additional $700 I will get a second 93sv UHD unit for my console and then connect it with the livescope unit.

No doubt the 34 would be nice but my 32 works plenty good enough. Yes you have to tweak it a little at times but it's really not that big a deal. I've been happy with mine.

Thanks for the insight, guys. I've heard some mixed reviews that the 32 will not be good enough for the 93, and the 34 will be much clearer. I have little knowledge with the livescope that's why I came to ask you guys. Another person told me the 32 is very outdated, but if you want to go down that rabbit hole then I guess a lot of things we use nowadays could be considered outdated technology.

You always pay for new technology. Everything becomes obsolete. If the current LVS32 is good enough then go with that and save the money. If you want and can afford it then go with the new LVS34 and it will go a little longer before obsolete.

    Just an FYI.

The 93 series units only have one Ethernet port on them. If you want to network two of them and a Livescope box you will have to have a hub to link all three.

A 32 with a 10 or bigger head unit is a great system. I also don't figure the lvs-32 or uhd 93 sv is outdated as long as garmin keeps rolling out the updates for them like they do all of the time.

I do just fine with my 32. I’m spending the money upgrading my 9” screen

In addition to that new transducer, you need a black box ?

Yes you need the black box as well as one of the livescope transducers and a compatible head unit.
