and with all those little wires won't you still have a big bulge in the line?? It would be smaller but a lot longer wouldn't it?

My question is there anyone out there that ever successfully spliced one of these back together? I know thats not a job I would want to tackle but might could find someone if its worth a shot?
I was listening to a podcast the other day...can't remember if it was Crappie Connection of All Angles but the guest they had on actually repairs (splices) the live scope transducer cables. I don't know what it costs but he seemed to know what he was doing. If you want to go that route you can check out those podcasts. It was within the last 2-3 weeks.

I have spliced LSS1 and LSS2 below water line. These had foil around wires. I spliced the foils too. The painted foil only conducts on one side. Tough splicing, but can be done. I wouldn't try it now as my hands shake like a dog passing a peach seed.

The Transducer Doctor's name, I believe, is Joey Cook on Facebook. He has a business fixing cut transducer cables.

If my buddy wasn't having health issues he could fix it no problem. Garmin found out he was modifying their gps dog tracking collars & recievers & actually called him & talked to him about it & would ask questions & bounce ideas off of him. He's good & helped them with a few things & they actually sent things to him to check out at times too. He's an electronics wizard.
