Thread: mega side imaging , way overrated?

well i got a solix with the mega si imaging, now i'll say it is very crisp and detailed on the mega frequency but you can only see out about 55 feet, i much prefer the old 455khz where i can easliy scan 120' and see limbs and fish just fine, not as crisp but to me the whole point of si is to be able to see out from the boat and i don't like trading crispness for distance, to me the mega si is way overrated

if somebody would like to chime in a teach me something new i'm all ears! and frankly i hope you can cause im disappointed in the mega hype, love my birds but not a fan of the distance the mega frequency cuts down on my view. ive dialed it back to the 455khz and just happy i can save more waypoints now.

You have already found the optimum use of each frequency ...

Find stuff with 455kHz ... drop a waypoint on it ...

Reposition the boat to rescan the stuff with MEGA ...
