    Have any of you done this to get a Garmin 56 transducer on a maxxum trolling motor ? Any reason not to ?

    I think I'd fab some kind of side mount before cutting skeg

    There have literally been thousands & thousands that have notched out the skeg on trolling motors so i don't see what it would hurt. Dealers use to do it themselves.

    Good or bad I did it . Seems to work perfect . Might hurt resale but honestly how much is a 3 yr. old Maxxum worth ?
